The sightseeing tour starts at Hovden Helikopterplass just a few minutes from the ski resort, and heads north towards the centre of Hovden and the Ski centre. The next point is Totak Lake after passing the main road between western and eastern Norway. The helicopter will then pass Rauland, which is a popular mountain resort in both summer and wintertime. Møsvatn is next. Originally, it consisted of three lakes, and in recent years there have been many archaeological findings of old mountain farms. Getting closer to Rjukan, the helicopter will fly above the area where commando soldiers were dropped during the sabotage operation. The flight then continues over Rjukan city, now a UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and to the place where the heavy water vessel "Hydro" was bombed. Here we turn westbound and pass Gaustatoppen peak and Vemork plant, the most significant object on the route. This is the plant were commando soldiers destroyed the manufacturing of heavy water that was supposed to be used for nuclear weapons during WW2.
