This helicopter sightseeing tour starts in Oslo, and Holmenskollen ski jump is the first attraction. Passing Nordmarka forest and recreational park, the route goes directly to Blefjell. This is a significant mountain range located between the counties of Buskerud and Telemark. Descending from the peaks we encounter Tinnsjøen, the lake where saboteurs during WW2 sunk a shipment of heavy water intended to reach Germany for nuclear arms production. Continuing the helicopter tour, you can see the peak Gaustatoppen which reaches 6178 ft above sea level (1883 m). A formerly secret communication and surveillance installation for NATO is built inside the mountain, and now it is possible to take the cabletrain inside all the way to the top and ski down. Just after the peak we encounter the dramatic scenery of Vemork where the saboteurs were in action. The tour will also cover the steep and narrow canyon they climbed to reach the heavy water plant.
